Knowledge Grid participated in Oman Sustainability Week as an exhibitor and speaker. Professor Michael Henry Solomon (Advisory Board Member) was invited to speak at the #OSW TALKS conference as part of Oman Sustainability Week, where he addressed the crucial issue of transitioning the Extractives Sector to a Carbon Neutral Energy Regime.
The conference, held on March 15, was attended by sustainability experts, policymakers, and professionals from various fields, all keen to explore practical solutions to the challenges posed by climate change.
In his presentation, Professor Solomon highlighted the importance of a systems-based approach to achieve carbon neutrality, emphasising the need to address the entire value chain
of the extractives sector. He also emphasised the role of innovation and technology in enabling a smooth transition to a carbon-neutral energy regime.
Speaking after the event, Professor Solomon expressed his pleasure at being part of Oman Sustainability Week and commended the organisers for providing a platform to discuss the critical issue of sustainability.
“It was a pleasure to participate in the #OSW TALKS conference and share my insights with such a diverse and engaged audience,” he said. “I believe conferences like this are essential in driving the conversation around sustainability forward, and I hope to see more events like this in the future.”
The #OSW TALKS conference is part of Oman Sustainability Week, a week-long event dedicated to promoting sustainability across various sectors. The Ministry of Energy and Minerals organised the event to bring stakeholders from different industries to discuss practical solutions to sustainability challenges.
