Course Aim:

The Apprentice Mechanical Vocational Development Programme is devised for fresh engineering diplomas or graduates wanting to begin their career as maintenance professionals and obtain positions in process plants, refineries petrochemical and relevant industries.

 

Course Content:

  • Understand and apply safe working practices in an engineering maintenance environment, identify hazards and assess risks effectively.
  • Be able to use and apply information from engineering drawings and manuals.
  • Understand the operations of various types of plant equipment, operating procedures, compliance regulations, maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrate skills in working with:
    • Pumps
    • Valves
    • Compressors
    • Turbines
    • Heat exchangers
    • Engines
  • Understand the fundamental components of plant maintenance, through the use of real exercises and assessments, trainees are challenged to apply new skills while working on real plant equipment.
  • Use of maintenance procedures and SOP’s to carried out various activities on real plant and equipment.
  • Produce assemblies using manual and powered tools.
