Course Aim:
To enhance driver’s knowledge and skills for driving safely on blacktop roads within the Sultanate of Oman .
Course Content:
- To be able to understand the specific skills need to drive a heavy vehicle.
- To understand what blind areas are and where they are on heavy vehicles.
- To understand the criticality of vehicle stability.
- To understand how to conduct heavy vehicle safety checks.
- To understand how and why loads must be secured properly, and load inspection.
- To understand the technical aspects associated with heavy vehicles.
- To understand how and why brake tests are conducted.
- To understand axel weights and weight distribution.
- To understand the secondary controls of a heavy vehicle.
- To understand the substances that are considered dangerous goods.
Who Should Attend?
All operators and contractor personnel required to drive heavy bus vehicles in the performance of their work.
Pre- Requisites
- Valid Royal Oman police License
- Minimum age 26
- 5 years light or heavy vehicle driving experience
- HSE Passport or HSE induction certificate or HSE Orientation.
